This is Eddie Andelman's Show

The Joey Fund and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) are working on a cure.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States today. One in 31 Americans are asymptomatic carriers of the defective CF gene. Currently, there is no cure or control.

The Joey Fund, which works in partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is an independent fund established by individuals in November 1986 in memory of Joey O'Donnell, a courageous fighter and victim of cystic fibrosis. The Joey Fund logo memorializes Joey's signature.

In times of extreme sickness or need, New England cystic fibrosis patients and their families, through the Joey Fund and the various Cystic Fibrosis clinics throughout Massachusetts, have a unique opportunity to receive financial assistance for CF related problems. Today, Joey O'Donnell lives on through the Joey Fund, which has raised over $25,000,000. Read articles on Cystic Fibrosis.

Together the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Joey Fund supply financial support for both patients and research. Working as a team they have created a future for children with cystic fibrosis, and are working even harder to achieve the ultimate goal - a cure for CF and to make cystic fibrosis... HISTORY

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease affecting approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States.
One in 31 Americans - more than 10 million people - is an unknowing, asymptomatic carrier of the defective gene.
The median age of survival for an individual with CF is 32 years.
The purpose of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to raise money to cure and control Cystic Fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation depends upon public support to carry out its life-saving programs and bring us one step closer to a cure.
The Hot Dog Safari raised $200,000+ in 2007 for The Joey Fund/CFF and, to date, has raised over $1,500,000 over the life of the event.
